iDEE - combining economic and ecological development.

The ambition and objectives of the iDEE association are to support our territory (Annecy region) and its economy to make it a reference in terms of environmental transition on a European scale:

• Enabling businesses and territories to develop while respecting the limits of the planet and life in all its forms
• By building the conditions for the environmental transition of companies by providing them with knowledge, resources and tools
• By initiating a change in the territory's economic model, notably through a regenerative approach that creates value

Seven years ago, the Paris agreements were signed. The EU committed itself to reducing its emissions by 40% compared to 1990. Realistic or not, we notice that each year is hotter than the previous one. Ursula Von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, had announced in her State of the Union speech that the EU would tighten its carbon emissions reduction target from 40% to 60% by 2030. The Commission has decided on 55%, which seriously increases the pressure on companies.

Today,no one can ignore the causes and consequences of global warming. Its impact on the global economy is and will be measured in thousands of billions of Euros.

Our economy is going to have to face challenges that are unknown to it and that frighten it, because of the many paradigm shifts and legislation it will have to deal with. This is also the case for the economy of our territory, which is largely composed of SMEs, VSEs and start-ups.

We have worked on a project to bring together the different industrial fabrics of our territory in a virtuous transition acceleration.

For a long time now, the economy and ecology have been pitted against each other, trying to create ruptures that are often due to mutual misunderstandings. It is the opposite that must be done by associating economic development with ecological development, i.e. both social and environmental.

After several months of reflection, this project took the name of iDEE: innovation and development for an environmental economyThis project, after several months of reflection, has taken the name of iDEE, in order to unify the two declared wishes of the territory, namely: to remain an economically dynamic territory and to accelerate the shift to environmental transition.

The ambition of this association is to make our territory and its economy a European reference and to support companies in their environmental transition project.

The association has objectives on several levels:

- At the environmental level: Enabling companies and territories to develop while respecting the planetary limits and life in all its forms

- At the economic level: Building the conditions for business transition by supporting and pooling the efforts of key players

- At the level of the territory: Engage in a change of economic model based on the strengths of our region.

This project, which includes numerous actions to be implemented in the short, medium and long term in Greater Annecy, is based on four main themes:

A first axis dedicated to the mutualisation of the actions of the companies in order to reduce costs, to inform, to pool

A second axis dedicated to training in order to inform and raise awareness among all companies and their stakeholders

A third axis which aims to act on our greenhouse gas emissions and to accompany companies by facilitating collaboration and support in order to measure, reduce and offset our carbon emissions.

And finally, a fourth axis whose objective is to communicate on our actions in order to make the territory attractive on an international scale on the issue of the environmental economy in order to better attract talents

We, as companies, are aware of our responsibility. Through our impact on climate change, we are both part of the cause and part of the solution. We have decided to join forces to act in a coordinated way, in conjunction with all the economic, political and scientific players in the region.
